Blue Sky Aviation does ab-initio instruction in the Robinson 22 and Robinson 44 Helicopters. These are the favoured helicopters world wide for training as they offer a solid foundation for the private pilot through to the commercial pilot. Check out website: www.robinsonheli.com

No formal qualifications are required to train as a helicopter pilot and contrary to popular belief, no previous flying experience is required before learning to fly helicopters.

The minimum age requirement is 17 years and the only other requirement is that you pass an aviation medical examination which requires only a reasonable level of fitness. Also contrary to popular belief you don’t need perfect 20/20 vision and you are allowed to fly with glasses. Type 2 and 3 diabetics can obtain a PPL. Type 1 cannot.

Flying helicopters takes some co-ordination, but nearly everyone can learn to fly them. Our experienced team of instructors ensure that every student obtains the best possible personalised training available.

Blue Sky Aviation is able to offer pilot training towards two licences namely PPL and CPL. We also offer conversion to type training from the R22 to the R44.
